Windows 3.1 file dialog in windows XPNov-6-06, 2:59 pm by HanfordFile under: Misc. Wow, this brings back memories. I went to install a font in Windows XP today and saw a relic from the past: the Windows 3.1 file dialog. This is in Microsoft's own code. To see it, open the fonts directory and choose "install new font" from the edit menu. It's funny to see this kind of thing in XP; clearly it's holdover code from eleven+ years ago.
I wonder if this still exists in Windows Vista. Feedback - 3 responsesDisplayed newest to oldest. Leave a comment.Leave a commentComments are displayed on posts and visible to all site visitors. |

I design things in Silicon Valley; mostly consumer electronics media players. Perhaps I can design things for you. Check out my UI Portfolio. When I'm not making things for other people, I'm usually making video games. more

Well, really. From 95, 98, ME through NT, 2K, XP this old-fashioned font dialog survived. I think there are clear reasons for that...
However, I'm used to look at Win3.1 dialogs quite more often...
